Using specialised equipment — touring bindings and climbing skins — you climb to a summit or a mountain pass to enjoy a descent often on untouched snow.
I love skiing, but I want to leave the ski resorts behind and enjoy the wide-open spaces of the winter mountains. I enjoy physical effort, just like in summer hiking — ski touring is made for me !
Our guide office offers outings for both beginners and experienced skiers: single-day tours or multi-day raids with nights spent in mountain huts.
And the Briançon area is full of gems for this iconic winter activity. At the crossroads of valleys coming from Italy, the Queyras, the Lautaret and La Grave, and the Vallouise, Briançon enjoys a unique position when it comes to climate, snow conditions and the sheer number of ski touring options throughout the season:
In winter: Pic Blanc du Galibier, Col de Laurichard, the Aiguillette du Lauzet circuit, Crêtes de Dormillouse, Col de Chaude Maison, Arpelin, La Blanche, Tête du Raisin.
In spring: Grande Ruine, Dôme de Neige des Écrins, Roche Faurio, Col du Sélé, La Momie, and the Dômes de Monêtier.
