Rock Climbing in Briançon, the Hautes-Alpes and the Calanques
Long considered a mountaineering technique, climbing has now become an adventure in its own right.
The sheer joy of moving over rock is, in itself, enough to justify the existence of this beautiful sport.
The Briançon area is blessed with an incredible variety of cliffs — limestone, granite, conglomerate and even sandstone. From 10-metre beginner routes to 650-metre big walls, there’s something for everyone.
Climbing also reaches new heights on the granite and gneiss walls of the Écrins Massif.
Introductory sessions are available from age six and up.
